The Horsforth Christmas Trail is set to turn the Leeds suburb all festive, with exhibitions, stalls, a farmers’ market and plenty more on Saturday 5th December 2015.
As it edges ever closer, it’s going to be hard to avoid all the festive cheer, so why not just join in with all, and namely, by booking in a day of fun at the Horsforth Christmas Trail? Because Town Street in the Leeds suburb is set to be transformed into a winter wonderland all day long on Saturday 5th December 2015.
The inventive folk behind the successful Horsforth Walk of Art have joined forces with Horsforth Town Council, the Farmers’ Market, Churches Together and local community groups and business, to make sure Christmas in the suburb kicks off with a bang.
It means there’s a quite unique local feel to the Horsforth Christmas Trail which starts with a very special exhibition at the Courtyard Cafe. Grab a cuppa and peruse the Walk of Art mini exhibition from 9am. They’ll also be hosting their own Creativities Christmas Market until 5pm where you can pick up a slew of crafty accessories and gifts.
Elsewhere, the Farmer’s Market will run through Town Street until 12.30pm where you can pick up all kinds of meat, vegetables and other locally-sourced produce to take home and whip up into a festive dinner, should you so wish. Once they’ve packed up, the folk behind Walk of Art will be taking over to put on their own Christmas Art and Craft Market, and the proceeds from all the little gems you pick up will go into putting on their next event in 2016.
Horsforth Library will be getting in on the Christmas Trail too, with their Tiny Tales and Tunes drop-in which, will hopefully help keep the little ones occupied for a little while. Firefly pottery, Courtyard Cafe and Bone Cancer Research trust will also be hosting their own drop ins, promising loads of Christmas fun, no matter how old you are.
The local schools will also be getting in on the occasion with St Margaret’s, West End and Featherbank schools putting on their own Christmas Fetes for you to peruse, while Brownberrie Lane pre-school are hosting Festive Activities and Stories with Santa from 10am until midday.
The best at Horsforth Christmas Trail is possibly saved ’til last, however, as Santa makes his way down Town Street for 3.30pm to help with the Christmas Lights Switch On alongside carol singers and the Horsforth Brass Band, before the evening ends with the St Margaret’s Christmas Market, where there’ll be a slew of hot dishes to warm you up.
From markets to festive stories and the big light switch on, if this doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit nothing will.
The Horsforth Christmas Trail is all over Town Street, Horsforth form 9am on Saturday 5th December 2015.
