Fresh from a hugely successful international tour, one of the UK’s most promising choreographic talents, James Cousins, returns to the UK with a moving and powerful double bill in Leeds. Performing at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre for one performance only on 14 November 2015, James Cousins Company presents Without Stars | There We Have Been, inspired by Haruki Murakami’s dark but beautifully tender novel, Norwegian Wood.

Taking inspiration from the troubled relationships portrayed in Murakami’s bestselling novel, the double bill portrays two sides to this moving story of love, loss and loyalty. In There We Have Been a beautifully danced duet sees the two performers intensely folding, wrapping and balancing, with the female character never once touching the floor. Without Stars portrays a complex web of relationships as the protagonist battles with his past and fights for the present.

James Cousins Company’s Without Stars | There We Have Been Mixed Programme at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, Leeds is currently sold out.
