JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE TO RELEASE SECOND ALBUM IN 4 MONTHS: ABSENT FATHERS
ANNOUNCES FULL UK TOUR inc. LEEDS SHOW
Americana renegade Justin Townes Earle has announced details of the companion album to 2014’s acclaimed Single Mothers. On January 12th 2015, the artist will see in the new year with Absent Fathers, an album that will feature 10 new tracks originally intended to form the second half of a double album to the former. In addition, Earle has also announced that “Call Ya Momma” will be the first single lifted from the forthcoming Absent Fathers LP.
Fans of Earle’s won’t have to wait long to hear tracks from his latest project as the Americana maverick lines up a full UK tour for early 2015 that kicks off at Glasgow’s Oran Moor on the 17th January and signs off with a show at London’s Union Chapel on the 6th of Feb. He comes to Leeds on the 3rd February and will perform at the Brudenell Social Club.
Both albums were recorded live with his four-piece touring band with only days of rehearsal leading up to recording to keep the ideas fresh. Tracks “Picture in a Drawer’ and ‘It’s Cold in This House’ are only Justin, his guitar and his pedal steel player Paul Niehaus. Justin Townes Earle is the the son of iconic country musicican Steve Earle. On arguably his most raw, yet lyrically refined material to date Justin addresses the issues of his troubled former years with a brutal conviction.
Single Mothers was released on September 9, 2014 / Absent Fathers will be released on January 12 2015 via Loose Music.
