Family-owned spice specialists Rafi’s Spicebox are set to open a fifth shop this August, branching out into Europe’s largest indoor market.

By expanding into Yorkshire’s biggest city, Rafi’s Spicebox are promising to continue on their crusade to change people’s perceptions on Indian food. After launching as a small spice delicatessen in Sudbury in 1989, Rafi’s Spicebox entered York in 2004, and quickly became known for the infamous ‘curry pack’, a hand blended spice pack allowing people to cook their favourite curries at home.

Owner Kevin Fernandez said “We are incredibly excited to be bringing Rafi’s Spicebox to Leeds. I went to university in Leeds and have loved the city ever since. Kirkgate Market encapsulates all the exciting things happening around the city, and we’re over the moon that we are now in a position to join some of the best and freshest food producers Yorkshire has to offer’.

Fully equipped with colourful spice desks and enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, Rafi’s Spicebox shops create a unique and bespoke customer experience. In their new outlet customers will be able to choose from over 50 made to order spice mixes . The spice blends include family recipes, seasonal recommendations and interpretations of traditional Indian dishes .

Rafi’s Spicebox Leeds opens Mid 2017, and will be located in Kirkgate Market, Vicar Lane, Leeds, LS2 7HY
