The festival season is well and truly upon us. Some festivals have already taken place (such as Glastonbury, Tramlines, Benicassim), but there are still many upcoming events like Leeds/Reading, Bestival, you get the gist. These epic music scenes are the place to be in the summer, with the sun shining, drinks happily flowing, perhaps a cheeky cigarette or two, and there’s no excuse not to because it’s the perfect time to enjoy yourself and worry later.

When ‘later’ rolls around though, you realise that you should’ve probably taken better care of your skin. Some of the biggest causes for breakouts and bad skin include drinking too much alcohol (and with that, not drinking enough water), lack of sleep and hygiene, and the most detrimental factor for women, leaving your makeup on while you sleep. Did you know that each night you leave your makeup on your face, your skin ages by 7 days? Well, you do now. So when your skin is looking a bit worse for wear, here are 3 great products (two cleansers and one surprise), which will revitalise your post-festival skin, whatever your budget.

1. BUDGET CLEANSER:The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

I realise that cleansing oils and creams that melt with your body heat are all the rage right now, especially when it comes to removing makeup. The reason why we love them so much is that they get rid of most, if not all, dirt and grime, whilst being gentle and natural enough that they don’t irritate the skin. That’s why Body Shop’s Cleansing Oil is great if you want a daily cleanser, since it’s very moisturising, just what you need after a few days of dehydration. It is scented, but that’s never been an issue for my sensitive skin with this oil, and it even removes the most stubborn of waterproof makeup. Winner!

2. HIGH-END CLEANSER: Pai Skincare Camelia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for. Of course, its great finding cheaper alternatives of high-end products, but this is one skincare item that I have yet to find an exact dupe for. Pai’s Gentle Hydrating Cleanser is something that’s utterly unique, as Pai avoid any chemicals that dry out the skin, such as alcohol denat and fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin. However, they still managed to make a seriously creamy cleanser that, unlike others, still moisturises the skin even after being wiped away with a muslin cloth. That’s because this cleanser doesn’t just work on the skin’s surface, but goes deeper to thoroughly replenish your skin. It’s a must-have for a quick, festival-skin fix!

3. ALL-IN-ONE KIT: REN Perfect Skincare Regime Exclusive Kit

We all love an easy skincare routine, right? If you’re at a festival, its pointless wasting time on a long regimen when you’re itching to see your favourite bands and eat some good grub. Something quick and easy to use is essential, and that’s why REN’s offering would be a great option. The kit includes five products, which are perfect for dehydrated, acne-prone skin: the Rose Centifolia Cleansing Gel (150ml); V-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream (15ml); Micro Polish Cleanser (30ml); V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream (5ml); and Keep Young & Beautiful Eye Cream (3ml). It’s great for travelling purposes, as the items are of smaller sizes (except for the full size cleansing gel), but that’s what makes it a great kit if perhaps you want to try more of REN’s great products, or you just don’t want to commit to one thing until you test it out. And when its at a great price like this, running out and buying it ASAP is definitely the best option.

Till next time!
