Everyone wants to look great, especially when your new to the fantastic city of Leeds. When your out socialising and adding to the long list of new friends you’ll want to look your best. Here are some tips from Alex to help.

During college I found that finding the time to keep myself looking less Geordie shore and more of a Leeds girl became more and more expensive, so I’m here to share some tips and tricks that you can use to get you through to the next term!

If you are tired of the lipstick/gloss colour you’ve had for a while… try mixing a shade of eye shadow into the lipstick whilst applying to get a brand new statement shade, or try to mix the colours you already have together.

Can’t afford to tan? Well if you are like me and feel completely naked without a natural glow instead of buying fake bake or St Tropez use an old moisturiser or body lotion and add bronzer and apply like tan for an instant and wash off glow.

Don’t throw away your old mascaras! They are the handiest part of your make up kit! These can be used to brush through brows or lashes to decrease any clumps. You can also use these along with hairspray to keep your brows in shape.

And for the guys…

Male grooming is nothing to be ashamed of, more and more guys are caring about their appearance especially in Leeds!

Brows are the most important part of beauty this season call in to your local salon many offer discount for students, and this will keep you looking fresh for cheap.

Avoid getting in-growing hairs or spots after shaving by using an exfoliator around the facial hair areas before shaving and in between. Never apply aftershave to the face only use it on your body, just splash with cold water.

And if any of you have those natural curls embrace it, rather than using straighteners or product to straighten them work them into your style as these are a must have style for this season! If your hair is straight use a vent brush and a hair dryer to build up the quiff style that is so popular.

Ps. Don’t be afraid to call into a salon and ask for student discount. Many salons do offer this and it will save you a fortune but help to get you looking great, to the highest standard and hassle free.
